Chrichlow
Black is indeed beautiful
in the faces
of generations
seen by Crichlow
painted by Crichlow
immortalized by Crichlow
Undisciplined attacks of
undisciplined minds
are ignored
by ones such as
Crichlow
who create Joys forever
to convince us
through craft, talent
and VISION
that the world is a better place
than it is,
or that it can be,
if only in art,
but that's a pretty big 'only'
for art has more value
for ones such as Crichlow
than even the latest
market surge or Power PC.
Then again, ones such as
Crichlow
are timeless practitioners
from Other times.
Not better times
nor worse
but Other times,
timeless times,
and it is from these
Other times
that ones such as Crichlow
emerge, for a time,
to demonstrate
that beauty is truth
and truth beauty
(in spite of all we think
we know),
that it is better to know the work of Crichlow
("Black
Angel," "Lady I" "Yellow Blanket," and "The
Flag")
than "all the news that's fit to print."
